Grey Makes His Mark in Mountain Biking

La Cañada High School alumnus Dane Grey finished 16th at the Pan American Mountain Bike Championships last month at Soldier Hollow, Utah, before traveling to the Czech Republic to compete in seven European races, including two Czech Cups and four UCI World Cup races.
UCI Cross Country Mountain Bike World Cups feature the fastest under-23 racers from around the world competing on highly technical mountain trails and will be held in the Czech Republic, Italy, Switzerland and France.
Grey found his love of cycling on the trails in the San Gabriel Mountains and helped start the La Cañada High School Mountain Bike Team, which competes against more than 70 Southern California high schools. He recently completed his sophomore year at Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado, where he competes on the varsity cycling team and is supported by Team Durango Segment 28, a professional development team.
Grey is scheduled to return to the U.S. in July to compete in the U.S. Cross Country Mountain Bike National Championships in Pennsylvania, in which he finished fourth last year. He is scheduled to finish his pro season in September racing World Cups in Lake Placid, New York, and Mont Sainte Anne, Quebec
