La Cañada High School held its commencement ceremony June 6 at Spartan Stadium. The stadium stands were filled with smiling audience members as the school’s symphonic band, conducted by Jason Stone, performed “Pomp and Circumstance.” The national anthem was sung by the chamber singers and concert choir seniors, led by Jeff Brookey. Student speakers were Sarin Youssefizad and Cameron Hong. During the ceremony, La Cañada Unified School District Superintendent Wendy Sinnette announced that LCHS Principal James Cartnal will move on to an administrative position at the district. The program concluded with the chamber singers performing the alma mater, followed by the turning of tassels and cap toss by graduates.
