La Cañada Flintridge residents will be able to dispose of their household hazardous waste for free on Saturday, June 29, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Brookside Park in parking lot I.
Items like antifreeze, unused pharmaceuticals, car batteries, used motor oil, paint, pesticides, home-generated sharps waste, e-waste and more will be accepted at the hazardous waste event.
To safely discard their items, individuals should follow the city’s instructions:
• Carefully secure items in their trunk/pickup bed. Hazardous waste must be in the truck/pickup bed with no other items.
• Waste should be in a sturdy box, preferably in its original containers. Be prepared to leave containers.
• No explosives, ammunition, radioactive materials, controlled substances, trash, tires or large appliances, like refrigerators, stoves and washing machines will be accepted for disposal.
• Sharps disposal will require exiting the vehicle in a designated location to deposit them in a bin.
The event is open to all Los Angeles County residents; however, no business waste accepted. A limit of 15 gallons or 125 pounds of hazardous waste will be accepted per trip.
Brookside Park’s parking lot I is located at 360 North Arroyo Blvd.
