Officials Advocate for Safe Fourth of July Celebrations

Authorities at the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station and the rest of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department urged residents to celebrate Independence Day safely and attend professional firework shows.

The department warned of zero tolerance for illegal fireworks in the county, with violators facing fines and criminal prosecution.

Officials cautioned that all fireworks can cause injury and property damage if mishandled.

Visit the Los Angeles County Fire Department website for firework safety tips: fire.lacounty.gov/fireworks-safety-and-july-4th-celebration-information/.

“Safe and sane” fireworks are illegal in the Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s Station area.

To report emergencies, call 911. For suspicious activity, call (818) 248-3464. For anonymous fireworks reports, call Crime Stoppers at 1 (800) 222-8477.
