With summer youth sports action in full swing, three teams from the La Cañada Baseball Softball Association competed in regional championship games with a chance to extend their seasons.
The LCBSA 11U Tournament Team won the East Region Championship on June 30, beating host West Covina 12-2 in the finals. The team will be representing La Cañada Flintridge in the 11U Super Regional tournament in Escondido next weekend.
The Mustang 10U advanced to the East Region Final and finished runner-up in the Sectional tournament.

The La Cañada Flintridge 8U Spartan All-Stars, meanwhile, advanced to the Southern California Pony Super Regional beginning July 3 in Moreno Valley. The team went undefeated in both the Pony District and Pony Regional tournaments, taking down West Covina, Whittier, and then Crescenta Valley to win the district championship. The team also defeated Crescenta Valley, Whittier Select, and Norwalk to win the regional championship.
The offensive attack was led by DD Kye who had 14 hits, including three doubles, four triples, one home run and 11 RBIs. Sebastian Herrera had 13 hits, Caleb Fan had 12 hits, Ethan Kim had 10 hits, and Davis Stoner had 7 hits throughout the two tournaments, with Austin Obringer, Austin Robinson, Mateo Williams, Andrew Dalvi, Liam Henry, Adam Sim, and Albert Elmassian rounding out the offense. On the mound, multiple pitchers had strong pitching performances, with Austin Robinson (12 strikeouts), DD Kye (12 strikeous), and Austin Obringer (eight strikeouts) leading the way. Mateo Williams, Caleb Fan, Liam Henry, Ethan Kim, Adam Sim, and Davis Stoner contributing key innings. Robinson and Obringer each pitched three innings in the region semifinal and final to seal the championship and send the team to the Super Regional. The team has put together a 21-1 record, winning the gold bracket of the Cheviot Hills Memorial Day Tournament, the silver bracket of the La Cañada Summer Smash Tournament, and the gold bracket of the South Bay Baseball Classic.
