La Cañada High School artists in Mike Kaufman’s portfolio class extend the boundaries of their art to children in a small, poor village in Colombia. As part of the Memory Project, students were invited to do portraits of young village children from photographs. The artists were thrilled with the task and determined to delight the village children. Using various mediums of their choice, they put their hearts into creating amazing portraits, which were mailed back to the children last week. The artists enjoyed sending some fun to the children and creating a memory for them from the United States.
