Families and friends gathered at Palm Crest Elementary for the sixth-grade graduation ceremony on June 6.
Principal David Santiago-Speck welcomed attendees, discussing how the school gives students a strong learning foundation, unforgettable memories, friendships and fun times. He stressed the importance of respect, responsibility and a love of learning as the students transition to seventh grade next year.
Students took the stage and shared favorite memories, including the sixth-grade play “Mary Poppins Jr.,” the Valley Forge trip, Pali Mountain Mb2 raceway, being part of student council and making best friends. The students also performed a song for their parents about PCR and graduation.
Christy Swenson, the after-school music teacher, directed the student performance. Jennifer Wolpert was thanked for her years at PCR, including the last two as PTA president. Angela Ng was acknowledged for creating a video montage of each student shown during the ceremony.
Graduates received a package containing their class picture, certificate and copy of the video.
