David Scott Tierney passed away unexpectedly on July 22, 2020, at the age of 62. David made his recent home in San Diego and for several years, Mammoth Lakes, California. David is preceded in death by his father Andrew and younger brother Brian.
He was born on October 21, 1957, in Los Angeles, CA to Anne Slosson Tierney and Andrew Tierney. David grew up in La Cañada Flintridge, CA and attended the La Cañada school system. David was gifted with talents scholastically, athletically and musically. He and his brothers were very active in Boy Scouts and youth sports. David lettered in football, basketball, and track at La Cañada High School where his long jump record set in 1976 still stands. He attended Occidental College excelling on both the football and track teams
Loved by everyone who knew him. David loved Yosemite, reading and animals. He will be dearly missed by his mother Anne Tierney, his brothers Ed, Michael and Colin, as well as his sisters-in-law Jeannie and Patricia, stepbrothers David and Steven, stepsister Carol, stepmother Susan, Aunt Margaret, nieces and nephews, cousins and numerous close life-long friends.
A memorial service will be held at such a time that is safe for all participants.
