Date of Death

In loving memory of John James Orlandini, who departed this world peacefully on January 27, 2024. Born on June 11, 1951, John’s journey was filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments. He leaves behind a profound legacy that will be remembered by those who were fortunate enough to share in his life.

John’s memory stays alive by his devoted wife, Rose, who stood by his side through thick and thin. Their love was a beacon of strength, enduring the tests of time. Together, they created a beautiful family that became the center of John’s world. He is lovingly remembered by his son, Joseph, with wife Deana, and their two children, Nico and Julian. John’s daughter, Sara, and his youngest daughter, Rebecca, along with her husband, Mark.

John grew up in La Canada, CA, surrounded by the love of his parents, Vince and Else, and his siblings Janet, Jeff, Jim, Joe, Jerry, and Joanne. Their strong Catholic faith was a cornerstone in John’s life. He attended St. Bede’s grade school in La Cañada, the parish church he faithfully attended, where he participated in Sunday mass and served as an usher. He was a proud alum of St. Francis High School, graduating with the class of ’69. He, alongside his son Joseph, brothers, and nephews, was a beloved member of its close-knit community. During John’s high school years, he formed enduring friendships, and his closest companions from that era stayed by his side until the very end. After graduating, He remained a vital presence at St. Francis High School, actively contributing and offering unwavering support even after graduation.

John was an exceptional businessman, inheriting his acumen from his father, Vince. In 1961, Vince established Newland Hardware in El Sereno, CA, where John and his siblings spent their formative years working. It was at Newland Hardware that he crossed paths with his future wife, Rose. Expanding on this experience, John ventured into real estate investment in the ’70s, eventually directing his focus towards Arizona in the early ’90s. Today, his children, Joseph and Rebecca, are continuing the family legacy in managing the real estate company. With his entrepreneurial mindset, John influenced his daughter Sara to start her own art gallery which celebrates their mutual passion for Halloween, and is now a horror movie tourist attraction in South Pasadena, CA.

John’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of his family and friends. A Rosary will take place at St. Bede’s Church at 6:30 pm on Tuesday, February 6, and a funeral will be held on Wednesday, February 7, at 10 am, also at St. Bede’s Church. May John James Orlandini rest in eternal peace, surrounded by the love that continues to embrace him in our memories.
