John William Landrum, 95, of La Cañada, CA, passed away on April 22, 2023.
John was born on March 1, 1928, to William and Mary Landrum in Stockton, CA. In 1946 John joined the Army where he was in the Army band as a drummer and served in Korea in charge of heavy machine gunners until his honorable discharge in 1947.
In 1950, John worked at Peoples National Bank where he met Diane. They were wed in 1951 and went on to have two boys, Jeff and Kevin.
John and Diane traveled extensively, spending a couple of weeks each year in their home away from home in Cabo San Lucas. John and Diane also shared a deep love for music and were very involved in their church (LCPC) and were staples in the church choir.
John is survived by his sons Jeff (Karen) and Kevin (Janet), their grandchildren Robyn, Micayla, Zachary, Katie, Jimmy, Jake, and Cassidy, and their cats Pepe and Pippi.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 27, at 2:00 p.m. at the La Cañada Presbyterian Church and is open to the public.
