Keith Alan Myers

Date of Death

Keith A. Myers, 91, of La Cañada-Flintridge, California, passed away in his home on July 3, 2023.
Keith was born to Miriam and Dwight Myers on Feb. 5, 1932, and grew up in Fort Wayne, Indiana. He attended Purdue University where he met the love of his life, Nancy, at a fraternity Christmas party. They married in 1954.
He served as 2nd lieutenant in the U.S. Army for two years. Keith taught high school woodshop before moving to California to take a job with McDonnell Douglas and later, the Ralph M. Parsons Company, where he was a project manager for 30-plus years.
Keith and Nancy had three children, David, Debra, and Steven. Keith and Nancy lived in Venice, California, then later moved to Gardena, and in 1976 to La Cañada, California. Unfortunately, Debbie passed away earlier this year in March from cancer.
Keith is survived by his wife, Nancy, and sons, David and Steven, and grandchildren, Kristen, Luke, Austin, Justin, Colton and Kevin.
Keith had a great passion for fine woodworking. He built a trimaran sailboat, restored a player piano, completely remodeled the kitchen and bath of their home, and other projects too numerous to mention. For many years he and Nancy crafted custom-made wooden Christmas puzzles for family and friends, each in a cloth bag, made from holiday-themed materials. Keith was a loving father, and an excellent teacher of how to fix things rather than buying something new.
Keith’s memorial service will be on Saturday Aug. 5, 2023, at 2 p.m. in the prayer chapel of the La Cañada Presbyterian Church in La Cañada, California.
