LuRetta S. Haire, age 99, died May 8, 2023, at Royal Oaks Manor in Duarte, CA, where she had been a resident since 2012.
She is survived by her sister, Alyce Lee, nieces Alyson Arneson and Jeanne Ferguson, and nephew Daniel Hatcher, all of Minnesota, and by her stepdaughter Linda Crone of Texas.
LuRetta and her husband Louis Haire, who died in 2002, were active in the La Cañada community where they lived for 33 years. They established and were owners of the Round Table Pizza restaurant on Foothill Blvd.
LuRetta served as president of the La Cañada Flintridge Tournament of Roses Association twice. In both years, 1997 and 1998, the city sent award-winning floats down Colorado Blvd. in Pasadena on New Year’s Day. LuRetta left for Minneapolis in 2002 to be with family, but returned to her beloved California 8 years later.
Graveside service and interment to be held Wednesday, May 24, 2023, 3:00 p.m. at Forest Lawn in Glendale, 1712 S. Glendale Ave. 91205.
