Nancy Marie Lugosi | Obituary

Date of Death

Nancy Marie Lugosi passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by family, on Tuesday, January 4, 2022, at the age of 83 years.

Nancy was born to Marie and Ernest Beauchamp on September 3, 1938, in Los Angeles, California. At the age of 15, Nancy met her future husband, Bela, while they were both students at Dorsey High School in Los Angeles. They wed in the summer of 1957 and were married for 64 years.

Nancy, Bela and the family moved from Inglewood to La Cañada Flintridge in 1971. Their children and four of their grandchildren attended elementary and middle school in the La Cañada School District and graduated from La Cañada High School. As a grandma, Nancy found great joy in supporting her grandkids and was a regular presence at their school and extracurricular events. Nancy loved the town and was proud to call it home for 50 years.

She dedicated her life to being a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother, and created a beautiful, loving and warm home for her children and her entire family. The traditions she instilled will live on in our family holiday and birthday celebrations, and she will be remembered fondly every time we jump into the New Year.

Nancy was a fan of watching both college and professional football, cheering for L.A. teams, but she really just enjoyed a good game. She kept up with politics, always voted, and was a true American patriot. Nancy had a great laugh and sense of humor, and was a lot of fun to be around. Her beautiful smile, strength of character, generosity, respect and incredible sweetness touched all who had the fortune of knowing her.

Nancy will be deeply missed by her husband, Bela; their children, Greg (Doreen), Jeff (Addie), Lynne (Bob), and Tim (Jena); grandchildren, Nicholas (Laurie), Jonathan, Lilli, Bennett, Selena (Zachary), Alexander, and Nathan; sisters Annette Lentz (Bob) and Suzanne Hild; her lifelong friend Sharon Hicks (Jerry); as well as a large extended family for which “Aunt Nancy” was the strong, loving and kind matriarch.

A private memorial service and burial, attended by family, friends and loved ones, was held at Forest Lawn in Glendale, California.
