Ellen Marie Vickers-Schwarz was born in Pasadena, California, on Jan. 8, 1964, and she died on May 30, 2018, in Clovis, California, with her family by her side. Ellen grew up in La Cañada Flintridge and was a graduate of La Cañada High School and Chico State University in 1986 with a degree in geography.

Ellen married William Schwarz on June 24, 1989, in La Cañada Flintridge.  They welcomed their first daughter Breanna in 1994 and their second daughter Allison was born in 1999. Ellen and her family moved to Coalinga in 2002 where Ellen was a beloved teacher at Faith Christian Academy for 13 years.

Growing up, Ellen’s hobbies were ice skating and playing the accordion and piano. Ellen loved her pets, especially her cats. She was a parishioner of St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Coalinga and lived each day through her strong faith, Christian values and deep love of her family.

Ellen is survived by her husband, William Schwarz, her two daughters Breanna and Allison; her parents, Paul and Bonnie Vickers from La Cañada Flintridge; her sister, and her husband, Damon; her nieces and nephew, Brandon Grose, Ashley Grose and Kristin Langland and her husband, Sebastian.

Services
A Mass will be held Saturday, June 9, at 10 a.m. at St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Coalinga followed by a celebration of life at Harris Ranch Ballroom.
