Glenn Perrin

Glenn M. Perrin, long-time community member and educator, passed away after a courageous battle fighting esophageal cancer. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Charlotte, son Jeff, sisters Bess and Georgia, brother David and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers, Gilbert Edwin and James, and sister Ruth.
Glenn was born in Berry, Kentucky, to Gilbert and Hallene Perrin. The family soon moved to Tucson, Arizona. As a teenager he played on the Catalina High School basketball team that took the state championship his senior year. He then received a basketball scholarship to the University of Arizona, where he played as a freshman. Upon moving to California, he attended Pasadena Nazarene College, where he met his future wife, Charlotte. He received his master’s degree from Cal State L.A.
Early employment included teaching at Temple City High, San Marino Military Academy and operating a summer school/ camp for boys in Beaver Creek, Arizona. He joined La Cañada Unified School District in 1966, where he thoroughly enjoyed coaching JV basketball, chaperoning madrigal spring tour and interacting with parents, students and co-workers. His hobbies included wood working, traveling, hiking, fishing and biking.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Forest Lawn in Glendale on Friday, Nov. 3, at 2 p.m.
