Obituary: Patricia Fulham McKellar

Aug. 29, 1926-Feb. 17, 2017

Patricia Fulham McKellar passed away at the age of 90 on Feb. 17 in Claremont. She was born in 1926 in San Francisco to Harvey and Lelia Parr. Her childhood was spent mainly in Glendale after a short stay in Long Beach. Her sister Susan was born in 1932.
Patricia graduated from Hoover High School and entered her beloved USC in 1944. She was an active member of Delta Gamma sorority and remained close with a group of cherished college friends known as the “Bridge Club.” During her high school-college years, she worked three summers at Curry Village in Yosemite, which was a lifelong happy memory.
After earning a business degree, she worked at General Petroleum, where she met her husband, Edward Thomas Fulham. They were married in 1956 and raised their two sons James Edward and Thomas John in Pasadena. In 1973, the family moved to La Cañada Flintridge. Patricia’s husband passed away in 1983. She continued to be active in the community, enjoying her friends and charitable work at Pasadena Assistance League, Orthopedic Guild and Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles.
Patricia relocated to Pacific Palisades after marrying Hugh McKellar, a fellow USC Trojan. They enjoyed 10 years of friendships, traveling and visits with their children and grandchildren. After Hugh passed, Patricia again relocated back to the foothills living in Sierra Madre, Bradbury and Claremont.
Patricia lived a full life and will be dearly missed by family and friends. She is survived by her two sons Jim and Tom, her daughter-in-law Mary Beth, her grandchildren Ted and wife Aubree, Sara, Christian, Sean, her great-grandchild Hazel, niece Danielle Cernik and nephews John Walker Pardee and Steve Pardee.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to USC or to a favorite charity.
