Date of Death

July 8, 1944 -Mach 22, 2024

Sharen Cholakian, a fifty-year resident of La Canada Flintridge, passed away at the age of 79 from complications related to Alzheimer’s Disease. Born in Pasadena and raised in Burbank, Sharen was a life-long California girl. She was adored by her loving parents Doris and Ellsworth Hauden. An only child, Sharen was spoiled by her own admission and kept her parents and grandparents on their toes.

Upon graduation from Burroughs High School, she attended San Jose State University where she was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority. On August 5, 1967, she married the love of her life, Richard Cholakian, in a small ceremony followed by a simple reception in her parents’ home. They were truly in love and the best of friends. Rich adored Sharen from the day they met, and they enjoyed a wonderful life together. Their daughters, Caren and Cathy, were the lucky ones to be raised by two wonderful parents that did everything to provide them with all the love and support any child would dream of.

Sharen was an amazing cook, incredible entertainer and could get any spot out of any material! Christmas was her favorite holiday. The grandkids always loved that she wore her red track suit with “SC” monogrammed on the jacket as she served up her famous sausage ring and tahoe brunch to kick off the day’s festivities.

She will be dearly missed but we are truly relieved she is no longer suffering. Sharen is survived by her loving husband, Rich, devoted daughters Caren (Kyle), and Cathy, treasured grandchildren Richie, Claire, Charlie & Cari and beloved dog Sarg. Her passing will be celebrated by her family privately. In lieu of flowers please make a contribution to the Alzheimer’s Drug Discovery Foundation, 57 West 57th Street, Suite 904, New York, New York 10019.
