Suzanne MacKenzie of La Cañada Flintridge peacefully passed away at home surrounded by family and loved ones on March 15, 2024.
Suzanne was very active in the La Cañada United Methodist Church community and as part of that, fulfilled her dream of opening a preschool to serve the local community in 1989.
The La Cañada United Methodist Church Children’s Center still serves the local community and embodies the love and caring spirit Suzanne started years ago. Suzanne’s other passions were the outdoors which included hiking, biking, snorkeling, kayaking and basically enjoying all that nature offered.
Suzanne was also active in education, worship, and nurturing your minds.
She was not only an educator, but a mentor and friend to those around her, and her spirit lives on in the hearts and minds of countless children and families she influenced.
She leaves behind at the Children’s Center a legacy of love, laughter, and learning that will continue to shine for years to come.
In celebration of her life and dedication, a memorial garden will be established at the Children’s Center in her honor.
