Wynn Develle, born Winifred Isabel Heath, died on Friday, January 13 in Pasadena, California after a long illness. She was 79 years old.
Wynn was born September 10, 1943 at the Quantico Virginia Marine base. She spent her early childhood in New Orleans before moving to the Mississippi Gulf Coast in Bay St. Louis. The Gulf Coast introduced her to sailing, a passion that remained with her throughout her life. Wynn attended Louisiana State University in Baton Rouge and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. It was then that she met her beloved Bob and they were married June 4, 1966. After Bob’s Air Force assignments and several career moves, they settled in Pasadena, California.
Wynn was a force of nature. Her wit and charm lit up every room she graced with her presence. Always ready for a good laugh, she was never one to say no to a good time. Her enthusiasm for life spread though all her endeavors. She was an astute business woman who could sell anything and a fabulous cook who loved entertaining friends and family at home and on their boat, Beach House. She traveled often with Bob throughout the Mediterranean, Virgin Islands, and Hawaii. But Wynn’s greatest joy was leisurely sailing with Bob on Beach House towards Howard’s Landing on Catalina Island.
Wynn is survived by her adored husband Robert Develle, Jr. and her beautiful children Robert Develle III (Susie) and Ruthie Callanan (Bill, deceased). Wynn was a doting grandmother to her grandchildren Ryan, Scott, Emily, and Mathew Develle, and Zoe and Billy Callanan. In addition she is survived by her siblings Ned Heath, Kathy Kensington, and John Heath.
The family would like to thank the staff at Villa Gardens Health Center for the loving care of Wynn over the past years.
