Music as an LCHS Fundraiser? Play on!

LCHS Jazz Band performing at the after-party 964

What started as a spaghetti dinner with music in the cafeteria years ago has now become La Cañada High School’s largest fundraiser of the year. The LCHS Music Parents Association recently hosted “Celebrate Music” at the La Cañada Country Club.
Featured groups were Advance Orchestra, Symphonic Band, 7/8 String Orchestra and 7/8 Concert Band. The Jazz Band performed for the after-party. David Sagal, former Music Parent Association president, who is now on the LCUSD school board, hosted the event. Special performances included a father-son sax quintet, including Sagal’s son Finn; Jason Stone, instrumental music department director; James Myers, 7/8 music director; and Jennifer Munday, Advanced Orchestra conductor.
