La Cañada Elementary School campus was a busy place recently as students, parents, Girl Scouts and volunteer 7th- and 8th-graders arrived early to clean up the campus. Working in partners, they weeded, planted new spring plants, raked leaves, picked up trash, and spread bags and bags of mulch. Chairs Lee Chumo and Felina Mahoney appreciated the large turnout and everyone enjoyed the doughnuts and beverages.
