Motorcyclist Killed in Crash on Angeles Crest

A man died Saturday afternoon after crashing his motorcycle on Angeles Crest Highway north of La Cañada Flintridge, according to multiple media reports.
The crash reportedly occurred at about 12:30 p.m. near Mile Marker 27.5, just south of Mt. Lukens Truck Trail, authorities said.
Paramedics pronounced the motorcyclist dead at the scene. The name of the motorcyclist, a 42-year-old Downey resident, was withheld pending notification of family. He had been riding a 2007 Suzuki westbound along Angeles Crest Highway when he lost control and hit the mountainside along the right shoulder, officials said.
Authorities closed both directions of Angeles Crest Highway on Saturday between 1:05 p.m. and 2:55 p.m., as officers from the CHP’s Altadena-area office investigated and awaited coroner’s officials to take custody of the body.
