Two Burglary Suspects Arrested on Oceanview

A resident’s call reporting a suspicious vehicle led Crescenta Valley Sheriff’s deputies to arrest two vehicle burglary suspects in the early morning on Nov. 30.
A 24-year-old man from Van Nuys and a 22-year-old woman from Los Angeles were arrested for burglary and mail theft and were being held at the CV Sheriff’s Station on $20,000 bail.
Deputies responded to the 2200 block of Colmena Street after receiving a call at 2:10 a.m. on Nov. 30 about a suspicious vehicle. They found the vehicle parked on the street with its lights on, allegedly ransacked with its window smashed, an indication that it had just been burglarized.
Soon thereafter, deputies reported spotting a suspicious vehicle carrying two occupants one block south on Ocean View Boulevard.
Deputies conducted a traffic stop, during which they saw a trekking pole inside the suspects’ vehicle that appeared to match the trekking pole that was found outside the ransacked vehicle.
When deputies conducted a check of the area, they found an additional vehicle was burglarized. Deputies located that vehicle’s owner, who was able to identify items allegedly stolen inside the suspects’ vehicle.
Additionally, allegedly stolen U.S. mail from three victims was located approximately two blocks from where the suspects were arrested.
