Arnold Campaign Collects Most Financial Contributions

The four candidates vying for two seats in the La Cañada Unified School District received a total of $90,685 in contributions, according to the final pre-election disclosure statements sent to the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk office.

As of Wednesday evening, Caroline Anderson — who collected the second-most contributions — led with 4,490 votes and Josh Epstein — who obtained the third-highest total in contributions — trailed with 4,489.
Despite having the most contributions, Jeremiah Arnold trailed Anderson and Epstein by more than 1,000 votes on Wednesday. From Sept. 20-Oct. 17, he collected $5,435 from 137 entities — one of which donated $3,000 — and spent $9,769. Arnold’s campaign reported a year-to-date contributions total of $32,999 and $24,543 in expenditures.
Epstein raked in most of his $20,825 contributions total during the final reporting period, receiving $13,806 from Sept. 20-Oct. 17. His campaign spent $4,608 during that time, upping his expenditures total to $5,600. Nine entities reportedly donated to Epstein’s campaign, including a $10,000 contribution from screenwriter Craig Mazin — creator and writer of the Emmy Award-winning series “Chernobyl” — and his wife, Melissa.
Anderson received most of her $27,988 campaign contributions total prior to Sept. 20. She reported $8,584 in donations during the most recent period and also spent $7,387, increasing her total expenditures to $13,410.
Belinda Randolph — fourth in the race with 2,727 votes — collected all of her reported $7,305 in contributions from Sept. 20-Oct.17 and spent $5,025. Twenty-three people donated to Randolph’s campaign.
