Rose Bowl Party Rescheduled

First published in the June 2 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.

The Rose Bowl Stadium, in coordination with the Rose Bowl Legacy Foundation, is rescheduling its Rose Bowl Party of the Century, presented by Western Asset.
It will celebrate the stadium’s 100th birthday celebration that will be held on Saturday, Aug. 13, after the addition of a new event.
The newly announced event will focus on international soccer and will take place on July 30, the original date for the party. The soccer match will be one of the biggest international matches on U.S. soil this year.
The Rose Bowl Party of the Century event is expected to be a sellout, featuring a red carpet, live entertainment, fireworks, a flyover and celebrity appearances while celebrating the generational moments of the stadium — all under the lights on the venue’s iconic turf.
A Legacy Foundation staff member will be contacting those who purchased a ticket for the previous July 30 event regarding the new date on Aug. 13.
“The Rose Bowl Stadium’s life and history has been built on iconic moments that have captivated fans and audiences from around the world and international soccer [and that has] has always been an important component of our DNA,” said Chief Development Officer Dedan Brozino.
“It is important that we continue to embrace these special opportunities to unite the Rose Bowl Stadium’s brand and its fans with the game that is so special to our past, present and future,” he added.
The Rose Bowl Party of the Century will be the first fundraising event of its kind for the iconic stadium.
It will be hosted on the signature Rose Bowl Stadium field to celebrate the life and moments of the venue’s global history, while generating support to protect, preserve and enhance its future as a national historic landmark.
“Over the past almost-100 years, the Rose Bowl Stadium has touched not only our lives locally but those of millions of fans across the globe,” said event co-chairs Angel Throop and Angie Miller said in a statement.
“This historic venue has fulfilled dreams and created generational memories that will last a lifetime. We are excited, humbled and honored to be involved in the start of the centennial celebration of this historic venue, and to throw a birthday party deserving of its 100-year history, which has been and will continue to be a big part of our lives,” they added.
