The Community Scholarship Foundation recently held its 2022 Scholarship Awards Ceremony at the Community Center of La Cañada Flintridge, where scholars and guests enjoyed a luncheon that highlighted award recipients.
Trish McRae, the scholarship director, welcomed attendees, and Community Scholarship Foundation President Brenda Gant gave opening remarks.
The keynote speaker was Elena Amador-French, a 2005 graduate of La Cañada High School. As a JPL scientist, she encouraged the students to be curious and open-minded.
The students who received scholarships were honored individually, including Zuzu Farrington (Lt. Todd Bryant Family Scholarship), Zachary Garcia (Allan O. Fors Scholarship), Victoria Wilson (Dennis and Linda Fors Scholarship), Laiinee Irribarren (Dr. Michael and Nancy Leininger Scholarship), Diego Ynzunza (Robert and Betsy Sorbonne Scholarship) and Ian Hunte (Don and Jo Seastrom Scholarship).
Scholarship presenters Larry and Linda Bryant, Dennis Fors, Frank Gooch, Mary and Brenda Gant, Michael and Nancy Leininger and Kaitzer Puglia, as well as Scholarships of Distinction presenters and CSF members Linda Evens, Barbara Marshall, Alice Perez and Caroline Anderson helped make the event special for award recipients.
