A man was killed when he was struck by a truck on a roadway next to the 210 Freeway in La Cañada Flintridge Saturday morning.
The Los Angeles County Coroner’s office identified the victim as 22-year-old Jesse Villareal and said he died of blunt force traumatic injuries.
The death was reported at 10:14 a.m. Saturday when a witness told the California Highway Patrol that a person was lying in the slow lane of southbound Ocean View Boulevard next to the freeway offramp. The CHP’s Altadena station told the Outlook Valley Sun that there were three witnesses at the scene.
The man reportedly ran into the street into the path of the truck, CHP officer Stephan Brandt said. The truck driver remained at the scene. Additional information about the truck and victim was not available as of the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline Wednesday.
The CHP investigated the incident since it was in an unincorporated area.
