Spartans Fall in Back-to-Back Games

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ basketball team lost a nonleague game against visiting La Salle College Preparatory of Pasadena, 52-14, on Saturday afternoon.
Sophomore Jennifer Musso scored a team-high six points with nine rebounds and one assist, junior Isabella Chividjian registered five points, two steals and two rebounds, and senior Mia Oakley-Stilson finished with three points, three steals, three rebounds and two blocks. Sophomore Sydney Magtoto tallied three rebounds, one block and one steal, junior Andrianna Pitsos collected three rebounds and two steals, and junior Talia Miyamoto produced one steal and one rebound. Freshman Emma Sengul recorded one block and one rebound while junior Annabel Le had one steal.
The Spartans previously lost a nonleague game at Hart High in Newhall, 79-27, as Musso poured in 11 points with four rebounds and one steal. Oakley-Stilson registered six points, two blocks and two assists while Sengul tallied five points, one steal and one assist. Le produced two points, four rebounds and one assist, Magtoto finished with two points, two rebounds and one steal, and Chividjian scored one point with two steals, two rebounds and one assist. Miyamoto recorded two rebounds, one block and one assist while senior Niloofar Sahimi had one assist.
LCHS (6-5 overall) will host Burbank in its La Cañada Tournament opener on Monday, Dec. 26, at 5:30 p.m.

FLINTRIDGE PREP

The Wolves routed visiting Mayfield Senior of Pasadena, 75-10, last Friday to remain undefeated in Prep League action as senior captain Ashley Chea registered 20 points, eight rebounds and five steals. Freshman Maddie Smith racked up a double-double with 16 points, 13 boards and eight assists while freshman Akemi Fu posted a double-double with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
Flintridge Prep previously won a league game at Rio Hondo Prep in Arcadia, 57-31. Chea racked up 23 points and nine steals, Smith poured in 15 points with seven rebounds, and Fu registered eight points and 12 boards. Sophomore Gigi Mastras finished with four points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal, sophomore Olivia Childs tallied three points, four rebounds and three steals, and junior Kassidy Huie produced two points, three assists and one rebound. Junior captain Izzie Chan posted two rebounds and one assist, freshman Pressley Huie had one steal, and junior Catherine Baldocchi collected one rebound.
The Wolves (11-1 overall, 3-0 in league) will battle Notre Dame High of Sherman Oaks in their La Cañada tournament opener on Monday, Dec. 26, at 7 p.m.

FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART

The Tologs have been idle since defeating host Pasadena Poly in a tournament game on Dec. 10. FSHA (6-7 overall) will battle Roosevelt High of Los Angeles in its Fight for the Height Tournament opener on Tuesday, Dec. 27, at 11 a.m.
