LCHS, Flintridge Prep Win Nonleague Matchups

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ tennis team swept neighboring rival St. Francis High, 17-0, in a nonleague match last Thursday, as LCHS No. 2 singles Konan Sahara earned a clean sheet with three 6-0 victories.
The Spartans’ No. 2 doubles team of Spencer Moravec and David Lee (6-1, 6-0, 6-1) and the No. 3 tandem of Blake Chang and Cayden Chang (6-0, 6-1, 6-0) each swept. No. 1 Lance Morgan won a pair of sets, 6-4, 6-0, while No. 3 Rahul Gupta won a pair of sets, 6-3, 6-2, before alternating with Justin Son, who was leading 4-1 before the match was stopped. The No. 1 duo of Aaron Magtoto and Dylan Lu won a pair of sets, 6-0, 6-2, before alternating with Enzo Lee and Eric Lee, who won their lone set, 6-0.
LCHS (1-0 overall) will visit host Blair High of Pasadena on Tuesday, March 14, at 4 p.m.

FLINTRIDGE PREP

The Wolves defeated visiting Crescenta Valley High of La Crescenta, 12-6, in a nonleague match last Friday.
No. 1 singles Jeremy Sieben (6-0, 6-0, 6-1), No. 2 Miles Cabrera (6-1, 6-0, 6-1), and the No. 1 doubles team of Christopher Fung and Ray Cabrera (6-1, 6-2, 6-1) each swept. Meanwhile, No. 3 Nico Christopolous (6-1), the No. 2 tandem of Marcus Lin and Luca Yeghnezar (7-5), and the No. 3 duo of Dilan Robbins and Finley Shivaram (6-3) each won a set.
The Wolves previously won a nonleague match at Burroughs High in Burbank, 13-5. No. 1 singles Sieben (6-4, 6-3, 6-0), No. 2 Miles Cabrera (6-4, 6-1, 6-2), and the No. 1 doubles team of Fung and Ray Cabrera (6-1, 6-0, 6-0) each swept. The No. 2 tandem of Yeghnezar and Noah Mukheree won a pair of sets, 7-5, 6-3, before the latter alternated with Lin. The new duo of Yeghnezar and Lin finished the sweep with a 6-4 win while the No. 3 team of Albert She and Jacob Chow added a 6-3 victory.
Flintridge Prep (2-0 overall) will host Burbank in a nonleague match on Monday, March 13, at 3:30 p.m.

ST. FRANCIS

The Golden Knights recently suffered a pair of losses after falling to La Cañada, 17-0, and Sierra Canyon High of Chatsworth, 12-6. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
SFHS (0-4 overall) will host Chaminade High of West Hills for a Mission League match on Friday, March 10, at 1 p.m.
