Spartans Blank Eagle Rock, 5-0

The La Cañada High School varsity softball team shut out visiting Eagle Rock High of Los Angeles, 5-0, in a nonleague game on Monday.
Sophomore starting pitcher Bentley Labrecque tossed four innings while junior Elle Leckrone, who went 2-for-2 with three RBIs, entered in relief for the final three innings. The duo combined for 11 strikeouts while allowing just four hits. Junior Ashley Lovejoy finished with a double and an RBI while senior Kyra Davis recorded a hit and a run. Sophomore Grace Rocco had a hit and an RBI and freshman Laila Kazazian tallied a double.
The Spartans (8-6 overall, 3-0 in league) will host South Pasadena for their annual cancer benefit game on Friday, April 14, at 6 p.m. Head coach Travis Lovejoy said food and drinks will be available for purchase and proceeds will be donated.

FLINTRIDGE PREP

The Wolves defeated visiting Mayfield Senior of Pasadena, 7-5, in a Prep League game last Thursday.
Elise Fong, who had a triple, two RBIs and a run, tossed a complete game while allowing five runs (two earned) on seven hits and one walk with two strikeouts. Presley Nevadomsky went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a run, Eliza Gunter went 2-for-3 with a double and Madison Lin went 2-for-3 with a run. Sarah Bougdanos and Asta Uziel each recorded a hit, an RBI and a run while Sienna Liston walked twice and scored once. Mary Sinclair was credited with an RBI while Jaclyn Sim walked once.
Flintridge Prep was previously edged in a league game at Rio Hondo Prep in Arcadia, 5-4. Uziel went 2-for-3 with two runs, two stolen bases and a walk while Fong registered six strikeouts over 6.1 innings in the circle. Nevadomsky recorded a hit, two stolen bases, a run and a walk while Bougdanos tallied a hit and a run. Liston was credited with an RBI, Lin finished with an RBI and a walk, and Sinclair stole a base.
The Wolves (7-6 overall, 4-3 in league) will visit Westridge School in Pasadena for a league game on Friday, April 14, at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Pasadena Poly on April 18.

The Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy varsity softball team will host Marymount High of Los Angeles for a Sunshine League game on April 17

FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART

The Tologs have been idle since routing host Notre Dame Academy in Los Angeles, 30-1, in a Sunshine League game on March 28.
First-place FSHA (10-3 overall, 2-0 in league) will look to extend its current three-game win streak when it returns to action against visiting Marymount High of Los Angeles for a league game on April 17.
