LC’S Leckrone Blasts 3 Home Runs at San Marino

The La Cañada High School varsity softball team routed host San Marino, 29-4, in a Rio Hondo League game on Monday as junior Elle Leckrone had a career day at the plate by going 5-for-6 with three home runs, 12 RBIs and five runs — all of which were single-game career highs.
Sophomore Grace Rocco went 6-for-6 with two home runs, seven RBIs and four runs scored while senior Kyra Davis went 4-for-4 with a double, six runs, three RBIs, two walks and a steal. Sophomore Bentley Labrecque, who went 3-for-4 with a double, an RBI, a run and a walk, racked up seven strikeouts over a five-inning complete game performance while sophomore Aubrey Wurm went 3-for-5 with four runs, an RBI and a walk. Junior Mia Salardino went 3-for-5 with three RBIs and two runs, freshman Ava Perry went 2-for-3 with four runs, two RBIs and two walks, and junior Ashley Lovejoy went 2-for-5. Meanwhile, freshman Laila Kazazian walked once.
The Spartans lost to Paraclete High of Lancaster, 13-4, in a nonleague game on Saturday as Leckrone slugged a two-run home run. Wurm registered a double, an RBI, a run and a walk while Perry and Kazazian each produced a hit and a run for LCHS. Rocco tallied a hit and a walk, Lovejoy had a base hit and Davis was credited with an RBI.
La Cañada blanked Arleta, 7-0, in a nonleague game behind Leckrone’s no-hitter. She racked up nine strikeouts and issued a pair of walks while going 3-for-4 with two doubles, two RBIs and two steals. Salardino went 2-for-3 with an RBI and a steal, Davis went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, two runs and a steal, and Rocco recorded a triple and an RBI. Perry tallied a hit, two RBIs and a run, Labrecque finished with a hit, a run and two steals, and Kazazian registered a hit, a run and a steal. Wurm finished with a hit and a steal while Lovejoy walked once, scored a run and stole a base.
LCHS defeated visiting South Pasadena, 12-3, in a league game last Friday as Labrecque, who went 3-for-4 with a double, pitched a complete game with six strikeouts. Rocco went 2-for-5 with two home runs, five RBIs and two runs, Leckrone finished with a home run, three runs, two RBIs and a steal, and Lovejoy blasted a solo home run. Davis went 3-for-5 with three RBIs, three runs and a steal, Kazazian went 3-for-4 with a run and a steal and Salardino went 3-for-4. Wurm went 2-for-5 with a double and a run while Perry walked once.
The Spartans previously picked up a 9-2 league victory at South Pasadena as Leckrone, who went 3-for-5 with an RBI and a run, pitched a complete game with six strikeouts. Rocco went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs and an RBI, Lovejoy went 3-for-4 with a double, two runs, an RBI and a walk, and Salardino went 2-for-4 with three RBIs. Senior Riley Breckheimer recorded a hit, an RBI and a run while Wurm tallied a hit, a run, two walks and a steal. Perry produced a hit, two walks and a steal while Labrecque finished with a hit, two RBIs and a run. Kazazian scored once while Davis walked once.
First-place La Cañada (12-7 overall, 6-0 in league) will host San Marino for a league game today at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Temple City on April 21. The Spartans will conclude the regular season next week with a pair of league games against Temple City and San Marino.

Flintridge Sacred Heart junior Meaghan Coyle twirled a complete game shutout with eight strikeouts against visiting Marymount High in a Sunshine League game on Monday

The Tologs pounded visiting Marymount High of Los Angeles, 15-0, in a Sunshine League game on Monday as junior Meaghan Coyle, who had two walks and a run, twirled a complete game with eight strikeouts, two hits and one walk.
Senior captain Charlotte Taylor went 2-for-3 with three RBIs, two runs and a walk, senior Meghan Garrity went 2-for-2 with three runs, two walks and an RBI, and junior Abigail Blea went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a run. Sophomore Ava Nawrocki registered a triple, two runs, two walks and an RBI, senior Cameron Bender recorded a double, two RBIs, two runs and a walk, and sophomore Gianna Candelora tallied a double and a run. Junior Megan Milton produced a hit, three RBIs, a walk and a run, senior Carly Crossland finished with a hit, two RBIs and a run, and senior Cassie Huston tallied a base hit. Freshman Juliette Smith scored twice while senior Ellie McCarthy walked twice.
FSHA (11-3 overall, 3-0 in league) carried a four-game win streak into its league game against visiting Immaculate Heart of Los Angeles yesterday; the result was unavailable by the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue. The Tologs will visit Marymount High in Los Angeles for a league game today at 3:15 p.m. before hosting Immaculate Heart High of Los Feliz on April 22. FSHA will conclude the regular season next week with league matchups against Notre Dame Academy, Harvard-Westlake of Studio City and Rio Hondo Prep of Arcadia.

FLINTRIDGE PREP

The Wolves routed host Westridge School, 17-1, in a Prep League game last Friday.
Jaclyn Sim, who recorded a double and an RBI, pitched four hitless innings with one unearned run, two walks and two strikeouts. Reliever Elise Fong, who had a hit, two runs, two walks, an RBI and a steal, pitched a scoreless inning with one strikeout. Mary Sinclair went 2-for-3 with a triple, three RBIs and two runs while Emma Carmack went 2-for-2 with three runs, two walks and a steal. Sienna Liston registered a hit, two runs, two walks, an RBI and a steal, Asta Uziel tallied a hit, two runs, an RBI, a walk and a steal, and Olivia Rabadi had a base hit. Presley Nevadomsky finished with two walks, two runs, an RBI and a steal, Sarah Bougdanos walked, scored a run and added an RBI, and Eliza Gunter recorded a walk, a run, an RBI and a steal. Sarah Rude walked and scored a run, Madison Lin scored once and Kelsey Lin produced an RBI.
Flintridge Prep blanked host Palos Verdes Chadwick, 14-0, in a league game last Wednesday. Fong, who had three walks, two runs and an RBI, allowed one hit and no walks with four strikeouts over three innings to earn the win. Carmack, who had three walks, an RBI, a run and a steal, issued a pair of walks with no hits and three strikeouts over two innings in the circle. Sinclair registered a triple, two RBIs and two runs, Uziel tallied a hit, three runs, two RBIs, a walk and a steal, and Madison Lin recorded a hit, two RBIs and a steal. Bougdanos finished with four walks, two RBIs and a run, Gunter collected a walk, an RBI, a run and a steal, and Nevadomsky, Liston and Sim each walked and scored a run. Rabadi produced an RBI and a walk, Allison Dennis and Gianna Huartson each walked once, and Rude scored once.
The third-place Wolves (9-6 overall, 6-3 in league) will host Providence High of Burbank for a league game on Friday, April 21, at 3:30 p.m. before visiting Pasadena Poly for their regular-season finale on April 26.
