Spartans Off to Unbeaten Start

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ soccer team opened the regular season with a pair of lopsided nonleague victories last week, defeating Glendale, 11-0, and Hoover High of Glendale, 7-1. The Spartans also tied Marlborough High of Los Angeles 3-3 in a nonleague contest on Nov. 17.
Samantha Neumeier contributed with four goals and five assists, while Hailee Takao and Mindy Martinez scored five and four goals, respectively, over three games.
LCHS (2-0-1 overall) will visit Mayfield Senior in Pasadena for a nonleague game on Nov. 27 at 3:30 p.m. before hosting Crescenta Valley High on Nov. 29.

The Wolves will open the regular season at San Marino on Dec. 5. Flintridge Prep will compete in the Best in the West Tournament on Dec. 9 before visiting Westridge School in Pasadena for its Prep League opener on Dec. 12.

The Tologs open the regular season at South Pasadena on Nov. 29. FSHA will compete in the Back Bay Invite on Dec. 1 and 2 before hosting Mayfield Senior of Pasadena for a nonleague game on Dec. 5.
