All prospective TK and Kindergarten families within the La Cañada Unified School District are invited to learn more about its transitional kindergarten and kindergarten programs.
Enrollment for the 2024-25 school year is based on a student’s birth date:
- Transitional Kindergarten: September 2, 2019 – June 2, 2020
- Kindergarten: September 2, 2018 – September 1, 2019
TK is the first year of a two-year kindergarten program that uses a modified kindergarten curriculum. This is a stepping stone between preschool and kindergarten. Both TK and kindergarten are entirely optional as children are only required to attend school in California once they turn 6. Until that age, it is up to the parents to decide whether to enroll their children in preschool or TK or other child care arrangements.
The district is requesting help in contacting parents who do not have children presently enrolled in school. Please pass the notice on to others in your neighborhood that might have a child eligible to attend school next year.
