Proctor, Spartans Quell Surging Blair

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ basketball team remained unbeaten in Rio Hondo League play with an 86-63 victory at Blair High in Pasadena on Jan. 12 as junior Josh Proctor amassed 31 points, 23 rebounds, three assists and one block.
Junior Josh Pastor racked up 19 points, four assists, three rebounds, two steals and one block, senior captain Jack Reynolds poured in 18 points with three assists, two rebounds and one steal, and junior Maddox Freeman finished with 14 points, two assists and one steal. Senior Anders Petersen chipped in four points, four assists, three rebounds and one steal, while senior Matthew Plocher registered four assists, one steal and one rebound. Senior Matthew Herrick collected two rebounds, while senior Dhilon Gupta had one rebound.
The Spartans picked up a 76-45 league victory at Monrovia on Jan. 10 as Proctor racked up 25 points, seven rebounds, one block, one steal and one assist.
Pastor poured in 17 points with four steals three assists and three rebounds, while Freeman finished with 10 points, two assists, two rebounds and one steal. Reynolds recorded five points, three assists, three rebounds and two steals, while Petersen tallied four assists, three points, two rebounds and one steal. Plocher produced four rebounds, three points and one assist, junior Julian Morillo registered four rebounds and three points, and senior Jaidon Gupta and Dhilon Gupta each scored four points. Herrick chipped in two points and one block, senior Conor Banks collected two rebounds and one assist, and junior Saad Bangash was credited with one assist and one rebound. Senior Spencer Moravec contributed two rebounds, while senior Shervin Naini had one rebound.
La Cañada (12-9 overall, 4-0 in league) will visit Temple City for a league game on Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. before traveling to South Pasadena on Jan. 24.

St Francis High School junior Noah Henry poured in 23 points to help the Golden Knights beat Chaminade High in a Mission League matchup on Jan 12

The Golden Knights secured a 74-71 overtime victory against visiting Chaminade High of West Hills in a Mission League game on Jan. 12.
Junior captain Mazi Mosley posted a double-double with 26 points, 10 rebounds, six assists and two steals, while junior Noah Henry racked up 23 points, five rebounds and two steals. Junior Joe Hickey registered five points, four rebounds and one assist, while junior Aaron Matthews tallied five points, two rebounds and one steal. Senior Kennedy Mitchell-Egbo finished with four points, four rebounds, one block and one assist, while senior Chris Kalachian produced four points, two assists and one rebound. Junior Dyllen Domingo chipped in three points and one assist, senior Ethan Childs recorded five rebounds, three assists and two points, and sophomore captain Delan Grant had two points and two rebounds.
St. Francis lost to visiting Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 61-43 in a league game on Jan. 10 as Mosley poured in 16 points, five rebounds, one block, one steal and one assist.
Grant finished with seven points, one steal, one rebound and one assist, while Matthews tallied four points, one steal and one rebound. Kalachian registered three points, two rebounds, one block, one steal and one assist, while Childs produced three points, three rebounds, two assists and one steal. Henry recorded four rebounds, three points and one assist, while Domingo chipped in three points, two rebounds, one steal and one assist. Hickey contributed four rebounds and two points, Mitchell-Egbo had two points, two rebounds and one steal, and junior Ryan Smith had one steal.
St. Francis (15-7, 1-2) will host Alemany High of Mission Hills on Jan. 19 at 7 p.m. before visiting Colony High in Ontario on Jan. 20.

FLINTRIDGE PREP

Flintridge Prep sophomore Owen Willingham and the Wolves will visit Providence High in Burbank for a Prep League game on Jan 18

The Wolves resumed Prep League action by visiting Pasadena Polytechnic Jan. 16; the game ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
Flintridge Prep (15-4, 2-0) will visit Providence High in Burbank for a league game Jan. 18 at 7 p.m. before traveling to Rio Hondo Prep in Arcadia Jan. 19.
