La Cañada Seniors Shine in League Win

The La Cañada High School varsity girls’ basketball team defeated visiting Monrovia 69-29 in a Rio Hondo League contest on Jan. 26.
Senior Andrianna Pitsos poured in 16 points with six steals, two rebounds, two assists and one block, senior Talia Miyamoto registered 12 points, three rebounds and two steals, and senior Isabella Chividjian tallied 10 points, five steals and one rebound. Junior Jennifer Musso recorded eight points, three rebounds, two steals and two assists, freshman Tessa Choi produced five points, two steals and one rebound, and sophomore Emma Sengul contributed four points, three rebounds and one steal. Sophomore Madison Hunt finished with five rebounds, three steals and two points, sophomore Malia Harney notched three rebounds, two points and two steals, and junior Sydney Magtoto had three steals, two points and one rebound. Junior Alexis Fitzgerald and sophomore Natasha Sadhwani each chipped in two points and one steal, junior Ella Magtoto scored two points, and freshman Violet Waugh collected four rebounds.
The Spartans lost at South Pasadena 85-51 in a league game on Jan. 24 as Harney poured in 14 points with three rebounds and one assist.
Chividjian registered nine points, three rebounds and one assist, Sydney Magtoto finished with eight points, two rebounds and one assist, and Musso recorded seven points, two rebounds and one assist. Hunt contributed five points, one steal, one rebound and one assist, Choi chipped in four points, one steal, one rebound and one assist, and Pitsos produced three points, three assists, one steal and one rebound. Ella Magtoto tallied one point and one rebound, Miyamoto had one rebound, and Sengul was credited with one assist.
La Cañada (13-9 overall, 6-2 in league) will visit San Marino for its regular-season finale on Feb. 1 at 5:30 p.m. The CIF Southern Section playoff brackets will be released Feb. 4 at 12:30 p.m.

Flintridge Prep freshman Addison Lee scored five points to help the Wolves beat Mayfield Senior in a Prep League matchup on Jan 25

The Wolves defeated host Mayfield Senior in Pasadena 58-25 in a Prep League game on Jan. 25 as sophomore Maddie Smith posted a double-double with 18 points, 11 rebounds and seven steals.
Freshman Megan Quoch scored nine points, sophomore Akemi Fu registered 12 rebounds and eight points, and sophomore Pressley Huie finished with seven points. Freshman Addison Lee recorded five points, junior Olivia Childs contributed five rebounds and four points, and senior Izzie Chan and freshman Miya Naruko each chipped in three points. Junior Gigi Mastras had one point, while freshman Hailey Louie collected five rebounds.
Flintridge Prep routed visiting Palos Verdes Chadwick 76-17 in a league game on Jan. 22 as Smith racked up 25 points, eight steals and five assists.
Fu poured in 14 points and five rebounds, Huie recorded nine points and six steals, and Louie tallied eight points. Naruko registered six points and five rebounds, while Chan scored six points. Childs produced eight rebounds and two points, Quoch chipped in four points, and Mastras finished with two points.
The first-place Wolves (22-1, 10-0) will host Pasadena Polytechnic for their regular-season finale on Feb. 1. The CIF Southern Section playoff brackets will be released Feb. 4 at 12:30 p.m.


FLINTRIDGE SACRED HEART

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy junior Ava Nawrocki posted a double double with 10 points and 10 rebounds to help the Tologs beat Marymount High in a Sunshine League game on Jan 26

The Tologs picked up a 35-25 Sunshine League victory at Marymount High in Los Angeles on Jan. 26.
Senior Isabelle Risha posted a double-double with 16 points and 15 rebounds, while junior Ava Nawrocki recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds. Sophomore Bella Hagobian scored five points, while sophomore Ruzanna Margaryan and freshman Emily Petrosyan each chipped in two points.
FSHA lost at Louisville High in Woodland Hills 62-26 in a league game on Jan. 23. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
The Tologs (11-12, 1-5) will visit Notre Dame Academy in Los Angeles for their regular-season finale on Feb. 1 at 6 p.m. The CIF Southern Section playoff brackets will be released Feb. 4 at 12:30 p.m.
