The La Cañada Baseball Softball Association kicks off the 2024 season with its annual Opening Day ceremony and friendly softball game on Friday, Feb. 23, from 6-8:30 p.m. at the Oak Grove softball fields nestled up against La Cañada High School.
This event is open to all members of the La Cañada Flintridge community.
“We encourage all LCBSA players to attend; teams from every division will be introduced,” a league spokesperson said. “The youngest players in the Shetland and Pixie divisions will be able to take a lap around the bases. We hope you will join us to celebrate an upcoming year of teamwork, player development and fun.”
The event will culminate in a friendly softball game, pitting representatives from the 12-year-old boys Bronco Division against the 14-year-old girls Super-Senior Division. The successful summer seasons for several of the league’s tournament teams will also be celebrated, including the national championship softball team.
Food and drinks will be available for purchase from Chick-fil-A and Fresh Brothers Pizza. The 2024 Cooperstown team will also be fundraising for its summer tournament.
