Les Tupper Award Nominations Being Sought

The annual Les Tupper Awards are presented annually to local residents, businesses and organizations who have given outstanding service to the LCF community.
Nomination forms have been delivered to local high schools and mailed to organizations. They are also available at City Hall, the Chamber of Commerce, the LCF public library and on the website of the LCF Coordinating Council website: lcfcc.net.
The four award categories are:

  • Student Service Award: Nominees shall possess outstanding personal attributes and be students in grades 11 or 12. The nominees should be actively participating in leadership and service-related activities that benefit both their school and include service in the LCF community. Nominee must be a resident of La Cañada Flintridge.
  • Organization Service Award: Nominees will be judged on their long-term and broad-based volunteer service to LCF. Volunteerism may be in areas of education, youth activities, cultural pursuits, religious, civic or social service. Nominees shall strengthen the LCF community. Nominees must be an organization located in LCF.
  • Individual Service Award: Nominees will be judged on their long-term and broad-based volunteer service to La Cañada Flintridge. Volunteerism (beyond job-related duties) may be in areas of education, youth activities, cultural pursuits, religious, civic or social service. Nominees should demonstrate leadership and service that strengthen the LCF community. Nominees must be an adult individual or couple.
  • Focus Service Award: This award honors individuals, organizations or businesses found to be worthy of recognition for their service to the civic and social betterment of the LCF community but do not meet the broad-based volunteer requirements of the other Les Tupper Community Service Awards, and instead have focused their volunteerism in only one or two areas of service.
The deadline for nominations is Friday, March 15. Recipients will be announced in late March and will be honored at a public ceremony on Monday, April 8, at Flintridge Preparatory School’s Norris Hall. The public is invited to attend.

First published in the February 22 print issue of the Outlook Valley Sun.
