Softball: Trio Propels La Cañada Past Heritage Christian

The La Cañada High School varsity softball team defeated visiting Heritage Christian High of Northridge 8-4 in a nonleague game on Feb. 29 as sophomore Ava Perry went 3-for-3 with a double, three runs and two stolen bases.
Senior Elle Leckrone, who had a base hit and two RBIs at the plate, pitched four innings with three strikeouts. Junior Bentley Labrecque, who recorded a base hit and an RBI at the plate, tossed three scoreless innings of relief with one strikeout.
Freshman Lesley Milton registered a double, two runs, two stolen bases and a walk, senior Mia Salardino finished with a hit and two RBIs, and freshman Riley Labrecque tallied a hit and a run. Junior Grace Rocco walked once, scored a run and stole a base, while sophomore Laila Kazazian scored a run and added an RBI.
The Spartans (4-4-1 overall) will visit South Pasadena for a Rio Hondo League game on March 8 at 3:15 p.m. before hosting Temple City on March 12.

The Wolves picked up an 8-3 nonleague victory over visiting La Salle College Preparatory of Pasadena on March 1 to extend its season-opening win streak to six games. Elise Fong pitched a complete game with five strikeouts, allowing three unearned runs on two hits and no walks.
Leighton Acker went 2-for-3 with a home run, a double, three RBIs and a run, while Sienna Liston went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base. Mary Sinclair registered a double, two runs, two stolen bases, an RBI and a walk, while Asta Uziel finished with a double and two runs. Ava Burlingame recorded a hit, an RBI, a run and a walk, while Alex Von Thaden produced a hit, a walk and a stolen base. Sarah Rude scored two runs, walked once and stole a base, while Emma Carmack tallied a base hit.
Flintridge Prep defeated visiting Maranatha High 14-4 in a nonleague game on Feb. 29. Fong, who tallied two RBIs, two stolen bases and a run, pitched a six-inning complete game with seven strikeouts, seven hits, four runs (two earned) and one walk.
Sinclair went 2-for-4 with a triple, a double, two RBIs, two runs and a stolen base, Burlingame went 2-for-4 with a triple, an RBI and a run, and Acker went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, a run and a stolen base. Liston registered a double, three runs, a walk and a stolen base, while Von Thaden finished with a double, an RBI, a run and a stolen base. Uziel had a hit, three stolen bases, two runs and an RBI, Carmack tallied a hit, two runs, an RBI and a stolen base, and Allie Dennis produced two RBIs, two stolen bases and a run.
The Wolves routed host Desert Christian High in Lancaster 17-1 in a nonleague game on Feb. 27. Carmack, who recorded three walks, two runs and an RBI, pitched a five-inning complete game with nine strikeouts, two hits, two walks and one unearned run.
Liston went 2-for-3 with two walks, an RBI, a run and one stolen base, Acker went 2-for-3 with an RBI, a run and one stolen base, and Burlingame registered a double, two RBIs, two runs, one walk and one stolen base. Von Thaden collected a hit, three RBIs and a run, while Fong contributed a hit, three walks, two RBIs, two runs and two stolen bases. Sinclair produced a hit, three runs, two RBIs and two walks, Uziel finished with a hit, two runs, an RBI, a walk and one stolen base, and Dennis had a hit and two walks. Francesca Cecil scored twice and walked once, Rude walked once and scored a run, and Gianna Huartson tallied an RBI and a walk.
Flintridge Prep (6-0) will visit Mayfield Senior in Pasadena for a Prep League game on March 8 at 3:30 p.m. before traveling to Palos Verdes Chadwick on March 12.

Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy senior Megan Milton went 2 for 3 with two RBIs to help the Tologs beat Polytechnic on March 1

The Tologs lost at Providence High in Burbank 3-1 in a nonleague game on March 4. Senior Meaghan Coyle pitched a six-inning complete game with four strikeouts.
Junior Ava Nawrocki went 2-for-3, while senior Megan Milton registered a double and a run. Senior Abi Blea produced a base hit, while junior Gianna Candelora was credited with a walk and an RBI.
FSHA secured an 8-4 nonleague victory at Pasadena Polytechnic on March 1. Coyle, who had a double and scored a run at the plate, racked up 12 strikeouts across seven innings to earn the win, allowing four earned runs on six hits and one walk.
Nawrocki went 2-for-3 with a double, Milton went 2-for-3 with two RBIs and a run, and freshman Siena Gundersen went 2-for-5 with an RBI and a run. Sophomore Ena Ramsey registered a double, an RBI and a run, Blea contributed a hit and two RBIs, and freshman Jayne Bender finished with a hit and two runs. Sophomore Juliette Smith recorded a hit, an RBI and a run, Candelora produced a hit and a run, and senior Colleen Traver tallied a base hit.
Flintridge Sacred Heart defeated visiting Roosevelt High of Los Angeles 7-2 in a nonleague game on Feb. 28. Coyle pitched a seven-inning complete game with six strikeouts, seven hits, two runs (one earned) and three walks.
Candelora went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, a run and a walk, while Nawrocki registered a hit, an RBI, a run and a walk. Smith recorded a hit, two RBIs, a run and a walk, Ramsey tallied a hit, and RBI and a run, while Gundersen finished with a double and a run. Traver and Milton each produced an RBI, a run and a walk, while Bender walked twice.
The Tologs (3-2) will host Immaculate Heart High of Los Angeles for its Sunshine League opener on March 7 at 3:30 p.m. before competing in the Shapiro Classic on March 9.
