PCY Travelers Make It to Philly After Delayed Flight

As Paradise Canyon Elementary fifth graders, chaperones and Principal Carrie Hetzel were starting to embark on a five-day excursion to Philadelphia for their annual Valley Forge trip at 8 a.m. on Monday morning, they were hit with a flight delay at LAX that would push their flight to 6 p.m. Although their schedule took a major shift, Hetzel said the students were easygoing about the delay.
The group passed the time by playing games like Heads Up! and UNO, as well as enjoying music being played by another passenger with a guitar. “While the flight delayed the trip, more importantly we made it safely and the kids are having a wonderful time,” Hetzel said.
