Palm Crest’s Elementary students voluntarily participated in the annual science fair, where they explored chemical color changes, crystal rocks, expanding marshmallows, refraction to aerodynamics, among others areas of interest.
Students started with a hypothesis, conducted tests and arrived at a conclusion. Their projects were on display and they answered questions. La Cañada High School students, who were members of the National Scientific Society, judged the projects. Everyone received a medal and certificate. A special surprise was a replica of JPL’s Mars ROV-E was brought by parent Jennifer Maxwell. Students had an opportunity to have it roll over them. The event was chaired by parents Hanna Kang and Jeannie Lee.
