Boys’ Volleyball: Wolves Go the Distance Against Pasadena Poly

The La Cañada High School varsity boys’ volleyball team returned to action hosting South Pasadena on April 9. The Rio Hondo League match ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
The Spartans (9-8 overall, 1-3 in league) will compete in the 21st annual Crescenta Valley Tournament on April 12 and 13 before hosting Monrovia on April 16.

FLINTRIDGE PREP
The Wolves lost in five games at Pasadena Polytechnic, 25-16, 19-25, 25-23, 14-25, 13-15, in a Prep League match on April 4.
Freshman Nicholas Smith registered seven kills, two aces and two blocks, sophomore Dylan Choi finished with eight kills and one ace, and sophomore Kyle Yun contributed eight kills. Junior Christopher Hioe chipped in three kills, senior Warren Nam tallied two aces and two blocks, and sophomore Zachary Tsai recorded one kill and one block.
Flintridge Prep lost to Monrovia in four games, 23-25, 23-25, 25-23, 23-25, in a nonleague match on April 3, as Yun registered 10 kills and one block. Smith finished with six kills, Choi chipped in four kills and Tsai had two kills.
The Wolves swept visiting Glendale Adventist, 25-16, 25-18, 25-23, in a nonleague match on April 2. Individual statistics were not reported to the Outlook Valley Sun.
Flintridge Prep (9-3, 3-1) will host Providence High of Burbank on April 16 at 4:30 p.m. before visiting Rio Hondo Prep in Arcadia for its regular-season finale on April 17.

ST. FRANCIS
The Golden Knights returned to action hosting Loyola High of Los Angeles on April 9. The Mission League match ended after the Outlook Valley Sun’s press deadline and will be included in next week’s issue.
St. Francis (18-6, 3-0) will host Harvard-Westlake High of Studio City for a league match on April 16 at 6 p.m. before visiting Salesian High in Los Angeles on April 18.
