Driver Arrested in DUI-Related Collision

An 18-year-old man involved in a traffic collision at Verdugo Boulevard and Descanso Drive in La Cañada Flintridge was arrested for driving under the influence and driving without a license on April 10.
Crescenta Valley Station deputies responded to the scene at about 5:55 a.m.
The station said the man ran a red light at about 45-50 miles per hour, while the other vehicle was moving through the intersection on a green light. The vehicles collided causing significant damage. The man obtained moderate injuries with a passenger having minor injuries. The driver of the second vehicle also sustained minor injuries.
The station said the man displayed objective symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol and admitted to consuming an alcoholic beverage.
He was also found to be on probation out of San Bernardino County.
“Crescenta Valley Station encourages everyone to have a designated driver if you intend to consume alcohol,” the station said. “Just one drink can severely impact your ability to drive a motor vehicle or react to danger on the road.”
