Palm Crest Elementary campus got a makeover that was made possible through community teamwork.
The beautification team, coordinated by Meghan Balding, worked on the school’s yards, and parent volunteer Rhiannon Liewer designed the gardens. Liewer’s goal was to get native plants and pollinators that encourage butterflies, hummingbirds and insects to visit. The plants came from Hardy Californians, a nursery in Sierra Madre. Students and parents weeded, planted and picked up trash.
