La Cañada Flintridge held a Memorial Day service to commemorate the fallen.
The event was organized decades ago by Don Hingst, an active La Cañada Flintridge resident and former principal at two LCUSD schools. The event was taken over by Joe Puglia, former columnist of the Valley Sun Newspaper. Having been a Marine in the Vietnam War, Puglia has felt a duty to carry on the tradition of honoring those who have died.
Participants included the members of the City Council, Chamber of Commerce, LCHS Marching Band, LCHS Choral Singers, Blair High School JROTC, Boy Scouts, Girl Scouts, Trail Life and American Heritage Girls, among many other volunteers.
