Sheriff’s Crime Report

A forgery incident was reported in the 600 block of Foothill Boulevard from January and May 21 between 12 a.m. and 11:59 p.m. The victim said that in January, he took two Citizens Business Bank checks that were sealed in an envelope and dropped them off inside the La Cañada post office to be mailed out. He was then notified by the company that his payment was not received. The victim then logged into his online banking app and discovered the checks he wrote had been altered and cashed by an unknown person. The victim said he does not know either of the names on the altered checks.
