Date of Death

Alane was born in Glendale, Ca. She is survived by: brother, Maynard Hine from La Canada, Ca., son, Brent Vinson (a retired Fire Captain, now teaching for OSHA), new daughter-in-law, Tamara Vinson, as well as 4 grandchildren, Kathleen Vinson, Melissa Hogan, Tyler & Jordan Vinson. Plus recent additions to her family tree through son’s marriage include, 6 more grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. She was a graduate of Glendale High School in 1949 and completed her education with an AA degree from Glendale College in 1951. She married Brooks H. Vinson on October 14, 1961 at Gethsemane Lutheran Church. They were married 48 years before Brooks went to Heaven on November 14, 2009. He passed just shy of their 50th anniversary. They had plans to celebrate with a trip to Panama where Brooks was stationed in the Army. They both were employed by JPL.  (Alane, 10 years as an admin. asst. in the Propulsion Division) During her tenure she volunteered for various employee related activities. A proud moment early in her career was winning JPL’s coveted “Miss Guided Missile” pageant  for 1955, as well as other service awards. Employment later in life included: Joy manufacturing, as well as a proud organist for Faith Lutheran Church in Tujunga, Ca. and other local Lutheran churches. Although she enjoyed numerous careers, she especially loved being a mother and a wife. Her hobbies included: travel, writing letters to family and friends, reading, word puzzles, and visiting Huntington Beach with her Son. She is now in her eternal home and is thankful to God for a wonderful life. Praise God!
