The Soto family is deeply saddened by the recent passing of our mother, Professor Carmen Sonia Soto-Bair. Carmen was a member of the La Cañada community for almost 40 years, living most of that time with her husband, Dr. Thomas Bair. She passed away on Feb 16, 2022, at 79 years old.
We celebrate her life and all its blessings. Our mother worked at Los Angeles City College and Mission College for nearly 45 years, assisting students as a counselor and English professor. She had an adventurous spirit and traveled the world with her family and husband, a retired professor at California State University, Los Angeles.
She loved her family, cock-tails and enjoyed a good laugh and delicious meals. She lives on through the legacy of her children; Dr. Denise Soto, Stacy Soto, and Stephanie Soto-Pell; grand-children, Samantha, Savannah, Dalton, Garret, and Alexis; and great-grandchildren Christopher and Lilliana.
