Donn Sarbaum, 79, of La Canada Flintridge, passed away on October 2, 2022.
Donn was born on December 18, 1942, to Rexford and Helma Sarbaum of Moberly, MO. He graduated from the University of Washington (go Dawgs!) and earned a Master of Public Health from UCLA while engaged in his longtime career as a financial officer for healthcare organizations in the Los Angeles area.
Donn married his wife of 56 years, Janet, in 1966 and together have three children, Jeff Sarbaum (Katie), Doug Sarbaum (Trish), and Kristen Heppner (Jay), and six grandchildren, Nick and Chris, Allison and Kevin, and April and Angelina.
Donn and Janet moved from Seattle and settled in La Canada Flintridge in 1974, where they raised their young family and lived together until his passing. Donn was a caring husband, father, and grandfather. His love for Janet and family was his guiding light.
Donn enjoyed being outdoors riding his bicycle (including numerous century rides), playing tennis, lawn bowling, and golf. He and Janet enjoyed traveling together and saw many parts of the world.
Donn was an active member in the local chapters of the Rotary and Kiwanis Clubs and served as Head Deacon of La Canada Presbyterian Church. When his children were young, he coached softball and volunteered for many of the activities they participated in.
Donn is survived by his wife, his children, and his grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the La Canada Presbyterian Church or the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. A memorial service for Donn will be held at La Canada Presbyterian Church on Friday, November 11th, at 2:00 pm.
