Saralyn Goldsworthy-Kismann

Saralyn was born on March 8, 1933 in Arapahoe, Nebraska, as the 13th child of the local mayor, farmer, grain elevator operator and Lutheran Minister Wilhelm Suedmeyer and his wife Blanche.
After a long illness, her mother passed away and the family relocated to Beloit, Wisconsin, where she graduated from Beloit Memorial High School.
On St. Patrick’s Day, 1951, she married her high school sweetheart, John Goldsworthy. Together they had 4 children: Jim (Donna), Dave (Kathy), Sue (Tye), Steve (Robin). The family left Beloit in 1960 and moved to La Crescenta, California.
Saralyn worked for the US Defense Department as an industrial specialist in contracts as one of the first women in her field providing contracts at the time for helicopters used during the Vietnam War. After retiring, she and John started and ran Dixieland Nursery near St George, Utah.
Saralyn’s high school sweetheart preceded her in death in 1989. She later remarried Frank Kismann in 2002 who passed away in 2012.
She loved to travel, play piano, sing along with Mitch, Burl Yves and the Lennon Sisters. She kept busy with her art work, pottery, songwriting, and dancing.
She leaves behind her four children and spouses, 12 grandchildren and spouses, and 16 great grandchildren.
We love her dearly…she will be greatly missed.
