The La Cañada Flintridge Sister Cities Association is looking for high school students interested in an opportunity to travel internationally and represent their city this summer.
The association is accepting applications for student ambassadors to travel to Spain, as well as families to host eight Spanish students who will be staying in LCF.
The program involves hosting Spanish students for a two-week period, beginning July 2 or 3, and then returning to either Donostia-San Sebastian or Villanueva de La Cañada with the students from La Cañada Flintridge. The local kids will be residing with the families of the Spanish students for two weeks between approximately July 20-Aug. 4.
Separately, La Cañada Flintridge is also looking for students to participate in the Youth Leadership Summit in Virginia Beach, Va., July 12-16. This program provides the opportunity to attend an international summit and participate with students from across the country and the world.
Applications are available in the offices at local high schools, at City Hall and online at lcfsistercities.org.
The application must be returned to the city clerk or mailed to LCF Sister Cities Association, 466 Foothill Blvd., #378, La Canada, 91011 by 5 p.m. on March 14. Applicants chosen from the written screening will have individual interviews in March.
